Biography

Barbara’s interest in art has been a life-long journey. Drawing and painting at a very early age, always seeking a way to channel her creative energy with a visual interpretation of the beautiful and mysterious world around her.

Her interest and curiosity in nature continues to grow and inspire her paintings today. An avid gardener, she often utilizes seasonal flowers in her paintings. Barbara’s still life paintings often captures related culinary items as they might be encountered when preparing a meal.

 

Barbara received a BA with a concentration in painting from Ramapo College of New Jersey and an MA in studio ceramics from Montclair State University. She taught pottery in Vermont for several years at the Shelburne Art Center and a career in marketing.

 

Her pursuit of a more classical approach to realism lead her to study at Grand Central Atelier in New York with accomplished artists Greg Mortensen, Justin Wood, Colleen Barry and Patrick Byrnes, as well as in the private studio of Michael Klein and Josh LaRock.

Barbara resides with her husband and standard poodle in Bergen County, NJ and Middlebury, Vermont.
